Regretting a mistake makes us eager to avoid repeating the mistake. However, I was thinking of a one-off kind of mistake, a bit hard to see what there’s to learn.

After all, with a right state of mind, you can learn even without the regret. Hence, struggling to understand the value added of the regret in the case of irreversible mistakes.
