I think this is ultimately a good thing, even if it can be annoying. Precision is better than elegance imo. Esp. when describing populations. Many are using a lack of qualifiers intentionally to misrepresent classes of people and we should distinguish ourselves from that imo.

I value the elegant aphorism, even if it's only mostly true. I also love the fact that people present counterexamples to over-generalizations. Sometimes I just play the elegant fool and let the more detailed picture resolve itself in dialectic. Gives everyone something to do.
