He hasn't said they shouldn't do it or it should be stopped, just that it's in poor taste & detrimental. It's free speech to not agree with other people's speech/actions.
He believes people should not be allowed the right to free expression if it conflicts with his idea of decency. That is precisely the same kind of censorship he decries on the left.
