His original suspended sentence was for contempt of court. He was arrested in Leeds for suspected breach of peace.

Yes, he was arrested for breach of peace, and then charged with contempt of court as a result of breaking the terms of his suspended sentence for same.

Charged with contempt as a result of breaching the peace?

No, charged with contempt of court for interfering with a trial last year, received a suspended sentence and a warning not to do it again, then did it again so his sentence was no longer suspended.

Exactly. If you saw the video in question you would not be confident that the charge of ‘breach of peace’ was fair. And the reason they couldn’t charge him with contempt of court for Leeds was probly because he didn’t discuss anything that was not in the public news already

Except, they did charge him with precisely that (and yes, in Leeds). The arrest for breach of peace was because his actions, like exchanging insults with the defendants as they entered the court, put himself and others in danger.

Your original tweet was that the contempt charge was actually arising from his first earlier suspension rather than a standalone charge. This seems to be going in circles. The point was to remove him as a risk. Did you see the video in question?

His charge of contempt was for the most recent incident. He was jailed because his new charge of contempt was a breach of his suspended sentence last year. And yes, I did skim through the video.
