He wasn't jailed for reporting something that is true. He started arguments with the defendants outside court, filmed them, and broadcast tendentious opinions about the case, which presumed the guilt of the defendants, to over 250,000 Facebook followers.

The quickness of his prosecution was most likely due to the fact that he was already on a suspended sentence for the exact same crime, and there was plain footage of him, recorded by himself, that showed him breaking the terms of his suspended sentence.

So, adding 10 month to sentence, and putting a media blackout, and being arrested for a different crime to that he was sentenced, and a 4 hour trial seems common to you? Stop your automatic replies, and think how this would look to if he were someone else.

OK, I give up, you don't want to refer to objective enforcement of law, and biased reporting like the above (did you hear the language used - contempt is dripping from it). You will gloss over swiftness and sentence and media ban /1

And you will accept a false claim that this was breaching an order aimed at preventing tainting other cases, when it was reporting from OUTSIDE the court. When one has no doubt in their side, one is blind. And my biggest concern: where is the doubt? /2

in a case like this, there should have been doubt and worry, because of the very nature of the accusation. It should have been scrutinised to death. Every comma. But glaring bias is accepted, because "we believe the legal system will never act in bad faith".

I was gonna say, ignore the nasty tone of the article. It discusses the legal matters in good depth, and that is what I wanted us to focus on. And yes, the law is biased. It always has been. But the fact remains, there is more than sufficient legal grounds for Tommy's sentence.

You don't have to be in a court to be in contempt of it, btw. You can be "within the precincts of the building", which means outside it.

If you are going to bring an article that explains the MEANING of a law, then have the courtesy to read it and think about it. If you already made up your mind, then don't pretend otherwise. If a law is abused, then people should be worried instead of repeating "party lines".

I've read it and thought about it. And I'm always open to change my mind. Personally, if I was judge, Tommy wouldn't be in jail. But then, if I was judge, many things would be different. That doesn't mean that I'm gonna be outraged when the law as it is works as intended.

Outrage is not required, but worry IS. Worry at every aspect of this "trial". But even more worry, at the extreme LACK OF WORRY from all pretend freedom of speech advocates. All people need is "don't worry, we are handling it" to be placated. Its scary.

There are SO MANY red warning bells here, that NOBODY should accept it without wondering. The justifications given are orders of magnitude below what they should be to avoid worry.
