It’s interesting being in the UK right now, with 2 scientists from the JCVI arguing for kids to get infected. I’d be interested to see the supposed wealth of science showing “natural immunity” is superior to vaccination—can someone share those data? Thxhttps://inews.co.uk/news/children-covid-vaccine-claim-better-getting-naturally-jab-dangerous-1080768 …

Just one of the problems is when kids pass it on to an immunosuppressed parent. They are not a small statistic and the thought's horrific. Apparently not to govt.

This is so amazing. Here are 2 teens in the US who got vaccinated to help protect not just themselves but their vulnerable family members (they worried about infecting them). Now they're helping other teens get vaccinated. Thank you @vaxconnect for your public health work 👏👏 https://twitter.com/vaxconnect/status/1410970671610576901 …

I honestly cannot believe, 18 months into the pandemic, that there’s still a discussion of whether it is better to just let the virus infect people than to protect them from it. I must be missing something. I’m not a pediatric infectious disease expert. I’d love to see the data.

Yes! I arrived in the UK 5 days ago, am quarantining at my mum (my dad’s funeral next week 😢) & the daily news here is, um, interesting. Plus so many infected kids (one of my friend’s kids is very unwell) I can’t really grasp the Covid policies of the nation I just landed in

Thank you so much for highlighting this, your perspective is so welcome with the insight of a visitor to our country Families like us just want our voices to be heard. When's it right to deny preventative vaccines to the vulnerable children? Welcome to the UK! #Confusingcountry

There is a Danish paper that the protection efficacy from "survived it" is at around 80%, lower than vaccine.

The two pediatric trials of mRNA vaccines both showed 100% efficacy. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/acip/recs/grade/covid-19-pfizer-biontech-etr-12-15-years.html …
