Why are so many supporters of the Great Barrington Declaration so utterly off-the-charts ENRAGED about the possibility of vaccinating children against COVID-19? [Disclosure: our 5-year old kid is on the wait list for the Duke trial & I'm pleased these trials are happening]

Enraged is the key word. So they can’t be rational. Everything is over the top.

I mean... not that I’m seeking out the GBD proponents, but majority of voices are calling for a more just and equitable vaccine distribution. The vulnerable and high risk first, globally.

It's all about protecting their egos and their reputation, and damn the children.

Are they? Can you share? [I’ve not signed any declarations/memos, but I do (1) have massive misgivings about diversion of limited global supplies for rich kids over older less wealthy people, and (2) set v high bar for safety data]

GBD authors oppose vaccinating kids (see Kulldorff's tweet that Twitter labeled as misinformation, see Florida roundtable etc); their supporters are all over the Internets saying the same. GBD has pushed vaxx misinformation😢 https://bit.ly/3xTO8Vl  1/2https://twitter.com/GYamey/status/1376622069648085000?s=20 …

Might be worth me sharing some of my earliest conversations with paediatric infectious disease experts working in global health, back when we kicked off the global working group on covid-19 vaccine financing & manufacturing. 1/ https://twitter.com/GYamey/status/1376517465518186498 …

Those were the same guys who wanted to use the children and schools to reach faster herd immunity in the general population, right?

"Those were the same guys who wanted to use the children and schools to reach faster herd immunity in the general population, right?" No, "reach faster herd immunity" is two strawmen in one.
