Also, consider listening to my #battleofideas panel. I bring up, or rather derail the conversation with, circumcision and reference the secular medical forum.https://twitter.com/GSpellchecker/status/1055554831618842624?s=19 …

This cartoon slide highlights the issues Transgenderism generates for ritual genital cutting. #HealthcareAndSecularismpic.twitter.com/r7legywbw2
We've just been shown slides with graphic images documenting a standard male circumcision procedure. I'm glad that happened before lunch. #HealthcareAndSecularism
Just wondering what @YouTube's policy on images of children's genitals for educational purposes is... Some creative editing may be required #HealthcareAndSecularism
People look at me like an alien when I tell them that something known as 'oral circumcision' exists. It's probably worse than you think.

We return after lunch with @AnnFuredi. Ann will be talking on the topic of abortion. #HealthcareAndSecularismpic.twitter.com/NSfIMg0n4e
On the 'no-platforming' of anti-abortion voices.

We move on to the topic of assisted dying with @DrJackyDavis . #HealthcareAndSecularismpic.twitter.com/c0kBHETzOU
We are told by @DrJackyDavis that those opposing assisted dying are often influential leaders of various religious and disabled groups, however their views often don't match many of those they claim to represent. #HealthcareAndSecularism
So, @DrJackyDavis talks about those that jumped from the Twin Towers on 9/11. She frames it as people consciously ending their lives because they realised there was no escape. I always assumed they were trapped and jumped instinctively when overwhelmed by flames/smoke. Thoughts?
It appeared to me as a "last resort/no choice" type of situation to avoid burning to death rather than a realisation that the towers would soon be coming down.
So. Seems we have an answer. Thank you #HealthcareAndSecularismhttps://twitter.com/CarterSteinhoff/status/1056180752952393728?s=19 …
Dr Michael Irwin will be the last speaker of the day. #HealthcareAndSecularismpic.twitter.com/AZqXqy7ULT
And that's me back on the train to Manchester. My video if the event will be made available in the coming weeks. In the meantime, head over to http://secularism.org.uk to look at the current campaigns & events. Consider becoming a member. #HealthcareAndSecularism
FGM is usually performed by a person with no medical training and can leave a girl with lifelong pain and/or reduced sensation from nerve damage and disfigurement of the female genitalia. It’s hardly just a nick!
That's not what was said. There are different forms of FGM. All bad, all illegal. But there is a form of it (a "nick") that is less extreme than standard male circumcision, which isn't illegal
And no one said "just a nick". If you are worried FGM was being downplayed, it wasn't. It's just sometimes useful to be fully aware of all its forms.
