Don't let worries about consumption get in the way of a good Christmas, like many of us focused on planet and people tend to do! We all need to celebrate and enjoy time out.pic.twitter.com/RTVCIjhtC8
So how about making those purchases - but doing it responsibly. Shop from businesses which have good practices, pay their employees fair wages, share stories of people who grew/ made the product, source products ethically and maybe even reinvest in great causes
Another alternative is giving to strangers - food banks, retirement villages, women's and children's shelters and hospices
Or maybe you can give your time: cooking for others, volunteering, and always positive role modelling
Remember- there are lots of discussions to be had with extended family and friends - enjoy a respectful dialogue about your values and why they're dear - remember to listen to the other people you are chinwagging with too
That's how we learn and get wiser and kinder- which I think is what Christmas is a little bit about
