    If I should say the sea breeze here blows kisses across your forehead and the surf sings to soothe your soul, it's not because I think wind and water can act like people. It's so you fully understand the magic of the wild . about it all.

    They left one. Most of the giant western red cedars of the Hamma Hamma valley were cut down decades ago, but we found this monster in the Lena Creek Campground (now closed for the season). Eastern Olympic Peninsula, traditional lands of the Skokomish. Stay alive

    The Finn Hill erratic, positive this was left by receding glaciers 12,000-15,000 years ago, the only erratic on the hill where I live, at least on its 900-some acres of public land. In Big Finn Hill Park, now a trail feature for mountain bikers. Stay alive !

    My awesome niece Jill spotted my book at the Coastal Interpretive Center in Ocean Shores (a terrific and informative place to visit)! Just missed each other, she arrived and I left the coast Friday. Storm, massive surf and king tides raging right now but stay alive !

    Taking this as a good sign for 2020, spent some time with the river and was rewarded with a big agate, some nice pieces of petrified wood and lots of colorful jasper. Stay alive !
