@Autism have you a view? This is utterly ridiculous & again ridiculing people with autism.

This is concerning. Research has comprehensively shown that there is no link between autism and vaccines in humans. More information here: http://www.autism.org.uk/get-involved/media-centre/position-statements/mmr-vaccine.aspx … We are contacting
@GMB this morning to explain this. - 4 more replies

Casual reminder that the whole 'vaccinations cause autism' schtick actively harms
#ActuallyAutistic people, as well as harming everyone due to loss of herd immunity, and giving this rubbish any sort of air time is tantamount to endorsing it. Please drop this ridiculous segment. -
Setting aside the ridiculousness, this is the same mindset that proliferates the idea that autism is worse than death. If vaccinating my dog against deadly diseases DID cause 'dog autism', I'd still do it. Just as my mum would still vaccinate me if she could do it all over again.

Although this may seem like a harmless topic for discussion for your show the idea that Vaccines cause autism has been proven false and is harmful. It leads to people believing that autism is something that a person can contract like a disease and that it is removable.

http://time.com/5175704/andrew-wakefield-vaccine-autism/ … This article discusses the damage done by this disproven myth in relation to children contracting Measles from being denied the MMR vaccination by parents scared to death by this doctors repeatedly unproven claims that Vaccines cause autism.

I had my cat vaccinated. He doesn’t speak, he sometimes refuses to make physical or eye contact and he’s often endlessly obsessed with a speck of dirt.

Oh geez My cat too——and I just checked with my sister, same story—we’d better start an animal antivax organization or more will suffer

There's currently no reliable scientific evidence to indicate autism in dogs (or its link to vaccines). Potential side effects of vaccines are rare & outweighed by the benefits in protecting against disease. BVA would be happy to provide evidence-based information on the issue
