A journalist has been accused of a hate crime, after she misgendered a trans person on Twitter. Hate crimes have a maximum two-year prison sentence. But with knife crimes soaring across the UK, should police be investigating incidents such as these?

The journalist was to be required to attend/participate in an investigative "meeting" with the police. A forced meeting with the police and repercussions for failure to attend is more than the police simply wasting there time on "rubbish". It is armed governmental coercion.
