Any person who doesn’t entertain the possibility that they are wrong is not sane. Anyone incapable of the empathy to see that others have different viewpoints, and knowledge and probably more in areas like, say, their own culture and experience, barely deserves the title “person”

Fair call. But I’m not entirely convinced that being sure about something and never entertaining the possibility that you’re wrong are quite the same thing. In other words I agree with you, and Mr Chesterton.

Any sane person should be sure they could be wrong. But bigot is too often used as a shutdown. Social media seems to push us to unwarranted extremes and certainty.
