    Compared access to obstetric care at 2 hours (lancet indicator) & 30 minutes ( guideline). Need to improve access for rural populations and re-evaluate how lancet indicators are applied for emergency cesarean & surgical care.

    This can & should be solved by collaborative research. Physicians in LMICs sometimes don't have the tools, training, resources, motivation or time to publish, however, they have the drive, dedication, passion for science & love their patients. Together we can make it better.

    Totally agree with this call to empower district hospitals in LLMICs. Just ensuring running water at district hospitals leads to improved patient outcomes - imagine how many patients would benefit if they could all provide essential surgical services!

    Great talk by - she used this NEJM paper as a case study to discuss how LMIC authors don’t get sufficient credit in global health research. Although the trial included several African sites, there were no Africans on the paper!
