    FYI 📣: voted YES to set a strike deadline for 4/26. Picket line starts Monday 10am-2pm EST while negotiations continue. More updates and info on how to show solidarity here:

    After 96.4% of our members voted YES we set a STRIKE DEADLINE for 4/26! It's been months of negotiating for a fair contract & we're ready to put more pressure on NYU by withholding our labor for better pay, heath care, childcare & protections for intl students

    🗣 Huge WIN for ! 🗣Penn’s min. university stipend will go up 4.25% (~$1200) for AY 2021-22. Graduate unions push for better, more fair pay for all student workers.

    ***HUGE NEWS*** announced that beginning in Fall 2021, it will increase stipends for PhD students from $18,000 to $28,000 per year. This wouldn't have happened without the work of the Loyola Graduate Workers' Union. Expect our statement soon.

    If Penn is committed to vaccinating all its instructors and researchers, why does its current Phase 1c plan leave grad student employees behind?

    We know that graduate students are higher education workers, and so does who included us as Phase 1c, so why doesn’t Penn name graduate student workers in its vaccine plan?

    Realized I should've linked it earlier: if you feel inclined to donate, our hardship fund will help cover urgent expenses (incl. health&child care) for workers with docked pay & for those ineligible for UAW strike benefits due to immigration status.

    Universities today rely heavily on exploiting the labor of grad students & contingent faculty. We *ALL* deserve fair compensation, healthcare, and protections from harassment and discrimination—things that should be a sine qua non, yet we still have to fight tooth-and-nail. 2/

    🚨 ACTION NEEDED 🚨 We learned today that has hired anti-union law firm Ogletree Deakins in response to our organizing efforts. They’re willing to spend big money on union-busting lawyers to avoid negotiating with us on our own working conditions!
