What system? Someone owns a building and they rent it to you. You pay monthly. If you cant pay then you get evicted. Not sure what a viable alternative would be?
Right. Though, I wish minimum space requirements would be lifted; I'd like to see micro-apartments become available. Also, a go-between "flop houses" and expensive (often executive) short-term rentals would be great.
“Not an attack on landlords”. Except, it is. In many cases, these are ordinary people. Not millionaires and billionaires. If these landlords are paying the mortgage with rent, then I guess mortgages should be cancelled, too. Cancel everything then.
