In my #VFTI at #KBIS16 I said Apple would win in Home Automation because of privacy and Apple’s history of dropping big broad platforms right out of the gate. 3 yrs later and Apple’s still a dark horse but looking so good.

Well if you look at Apple approved HomeKit products there are shades, lights, locks, HVAC, and a lot more.

Kitchen hoods would be good too.

I agree. For now I have my hood plugged into a Homekit plug automated to turn on when VOC levels are hight nearby, or else manually as needed. The area of Homekit compatible fan control (range hoods, inline fans, bathroom fans), ideally w/ variable speed control - needs work.
