Refrigerators with DRM on the water filters?!? @geappliances was tricky enough to change the design so you can’t easily peel off the RFID tag and apply it to another 3rd party filter. Grrrrrrr.

The RFID component is part of the system that communicates w/the fridge + shuts off water supply in the event a leak is detected.

There are dozens of other ways to ensure there are no leaks. And, in my 15 years of GE fridges pre RFID filters, I’ve had 0 leaks. Like zero. Also, nice job melting the RFID chip into the plastic to I can’t peel and re-use.
