The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has inhabited present day MA & RI for 12,000+ years. They have 2,600 citizens (some below).
Yesterday, the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs announced they would be disestablished & would take their land out of trust.
This cannot stand. #StandWithMashpee

Here is the thing to understand about flattening the curve.
It only works if we take necessary measures before they seem necessary.
And if it works, people will think we over-reacted.
We have to be willing to look like we over-reacted.

Harvard just reversed its policy of not providing money for storage to people on financial aid! they'll be covering that cost now. previously they were providing "advances" (loans) for flights only. this is huge, & in no small part because of student organizing & outside support

I was bookmarking tweets about teaching college during the coronavirus, but then I thought why not make a collective resource?
I'm using #CovidCampus in the hopes that we can crowdsource some resources on remote learning, surveillance, race, and accessibility.

Hey, folks, if you move a conference or other gathering from in-person to online/virtual, PLEASE keep + *share* notes on what works and what doesn't.
Virtual events will be important in the future, including because of climate change.
We should use this moment to LEARN.

The government can do (and force companies to do) everything we demand of them. Everything you've been told about the limits to living in a good and just world is a lie designed to protect financial interests.
