You summed it up in a nutshell. If I dispute a claim even though I am not infringing on copyright, they *will* take the video down and issue a strike. All YouTube offers is to contact the company. Guess what they do? They ignore you. Uhm.

That's US copyright law though...If the Company ignores your counter notification, then after 10 business days, your video should go up and your strike should be removed though.

They issue strikes every time now, where as before claims were released. With getting disputes rejected now, I can't afford to risk my channel with getting 3 strikes, which would easily happen.

Right, I would expect the process to be: 1) claim 2) dispute claim 3) wait 4) strike 4) counter notify 5) wait 6) strike released, video re-uppd. Are you saying 6 doesn't happen anymore if you counternotify?

It's more like this: 1) claim 2) dispute claim 3) wait 4) appeal (if needed) 4) wait 5) video takedown/strike (if applicable) 6) counter notify 7) video reinstated / strike released The reason a video wouldn't be reinstated is if there's a lawsuit at the end of all this.

thanks for the clarification. This exacerbates the main issues: 1) waiting puts a channel in jeopardy for a long time (e.g., having strikes limits channel features) and 2) a person STILL have to make sure they don't have more than 2 strikes in the system at any given time

Yup and try 67+ disputes... I just think it's mad that there is no element of assessment in-between. Especially when I've had around 100 or so claims released from videos/content with the exact same content in question as the now recent rejected ones...
