Yes, that are exactly my thoughts aswell. Pick and ban system creates a lot of strategies but then everything might be destroyed just by queue'ing bad matchups.

Much more skill testing but less exciting for casual viewers because the same classes may (will) be played several times in a row. I'm with you, but I doubt Blizzard is

They could at least draft the lineup order or something where there’s skill or thought. I don’t think this is ideal but double blind is pure RNG for play order.

The issue with LHS is that one player might just be on camera the whole time and sweep, but i totally agree the random pick order is counter intuitive to the pick/ban phase.

or oakheart wins 3 games in a row and everybody hates everything

There are actually 120 ways one can match two groups of 5 decks, and only one of them is chosen. I can imagine each of those 120 matchings having different odds a priori. Gonna do some research on that to see the SD and volatility of this randomness.

Rare to see someone applying probability theory lol. 5 factorial = 5! = 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 120 RDU's "5 random matchups out of the 25 possible ones" also works though: 25 * 16 * 9 * 4 * 1 / 5! = 120 [ 5² * 4² * 3² * 2² * 1² / 5! = 5! ]
