HB2616 (Townsend, LD16) seeks to make it a criminal offense to take a job registering Arizonans to vote. SB1090 would require anyone who votes at an emergency voting center to sign a statement attesting to the emergency. The bill has been amended from its original version, which would have required a signed affidavit under penalty of perjury.

SB1072 would increase identification burdens on individuals who cast ballots at early voting centers, prohibiting government-issued identification such as passports, military & tribal IDs. The bill has passed from the Senate & House Chambers, & is heading to the Governor’s desk.

SB1188 takes the permanent out of Permanent Early Voter List. The bill removes voters from PEVL if they miss an election. The bill has passed out the Senate.

SB1451 creates barriers to Arizonans’ constitutional right to create laws through citizen initiatives. The bill is another attempt to stem the voice of citizens by infringing on their rights. SB1451 passed out of the Senate and House Elections on a party-line vote.

SB1046 would require anyone who receives a ballot by mail to return their ballot by mail, & removes the option to drop off ballots on the day-of an election or at an early voting center. The bill was halted on the Senate floor in early February and has not reemerged this session.
