@BLAsia_Africa You might have seen this before, but it is in a Western ms, so just in case you haven't - I stumbled across this wonderfully interesting depiction in Add MS 5234 today. I wonder if he did it in Constantinople or back here?

Made me think of the Welsh Morgans. Spies, Pirates, courtiers- but the Shakespearean account/trope of slaves is more plausible https://www.jstor.org/stable/43447510?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents …

I have no idea TBH, but I got sucked down the rabbit hole when I remembered the various Mary and Elizabeth plots. There was a Thomas Morgan. What is the rest of the text?
-
Yes, when I googled Thomas Morgan I just got the Babington plot chap. I'm v interesting by the fact that he was a slave (how common was that?). I can't read all the text, but some is descriptive, some looks like a song/poem.

Not a case I know a great deal about, though this has some material perhaps worth following (let me know if you need access) https://www.jstor.org/stable/43447510?seq=1#metadata_info_tab_contents …
