IT's HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't thank my co-authors enough, and the scientists who contributed their "selfies" to make this study possible. What a journey. Seriously, what an amazing journey.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s ok if you need a break from . The community will be here when you get back. Whether it’s a voluntary public service or a paid position, you won’t be the best version of yourself if you don’t take care of yourself.

Biology is a heavily visual discipline. Cells, organisms, molecules all have structures that are crucial to function. Artists can more clearly illustrate these structure-function relationships. Plus, art can just make your research look cool!

An artist’s job is to communicate things visually! They have learned how other people look at things and how to portray info in a way that’s captivating & understandable. Also, they probs have opinions on some things that non-artists have never thought of!

Because art transcends language and can be understood by people from all walks of life. Because you don’t need any formal education to understand it.

Because it allows for people outside of STEM to be introduced to science topics, get interested and get involved! There’s actually quite a few published papers on this and what im researching for my masters!

Art can give science a voice. Science is not always tangible nor easy to understand. Art can tell the story of Science in a digestible format.

People learn and understand the world around them differently. Some are visual, some need to experience it, some learn through games...If you take art to also mean music, games, dance...then all these forms of art can help scientists spread their word!

At the Integrative Conservation Conference in 2018, there were some amazing collaborations between musicians/dancers & scientists. I would love to translate that to something we do here at

Sometimes it's as simple as scientists making bad visual decisions and artists making good ones.

I’ve written papers about this with . It’s good for everyone if done right.Needs a flat power structure+open ended ambitions.not art being in service to science or vice versa, although good outputs can come from this,it’s less a collaboration or creation of new knowledge

Art is both a unique and effective method of communicating science It should not be underestimated or undervalued. SciArt can help put information in context, capture the audience's attention, and communicate concepts in a novel way. Let's celebrate !
