Translation: they are stepping in moderate (DELETE) the protest and silence artists, and they STILL refuse to moderate and remove AI art from the platform.

For site usability, we are moderating posts that violate our Terms of Service. We understand concerns about AI and its impact on the industry. We will share more about improvements to give users more control over what they see and how they use ArtStation in the near future.
Stay tuned, but I’d put money down that “site usability” refers to the experience of the users *browsing art* who don’t want to hear us talk, and has nothing to do with the “site usability” for the artists whom entire site was ostensibly designed to serve. Watch the priorities.

Notice they intend to give us control of “what we see”, not that they intend to take a stand with us or moderate what there IS to see. Watch them just hand us another toggle, to brush whatever AI images actually get tagged by uploaders under the rug while they hedge bets.

Not sure if you saw this earlier.

I’m not sure current AI art generators are generating original works of art. They may just be creating derivative works of copyrighted art they were trained on, tainting all commercial use. That’s one of the big questions separating research from an actual business opportunity.

Of they do this, actually start silencing the protest under the prestance of « spams ». It will be the final straw that break their back, no legitimate artists will stay/post and the companies recruiting them will stop coming to their website. And good flocking riddance !
