Happy . We kick it off with an example of a Bumpy Rocket Frog (Litoria inermis) making the most of a horse trough in Queensland. These permanent water bodies can offer some respite for frogs during dry weather. Thanks for sharing Edward! 🐴🐸😀

Non scientific but subjectively (left school at 15) the benifits of public participation are imesurable. Personally it's given me an opportunity to do something albeit small, instilled greater appreciation and awareness for the environment in an easy enjoyable way. Thanks FrogId.

We've had some feedback that lots of people are hearing Cane Toads so they haven't sent in any recordings. Cane Toads are very important records and they help us better understand what they are up to! Please keep them coming!

Eagle eyed observers might have noticed we recently notched up a couple of new species. Chris Roach recorded species 192 in December, the Bellenden Ker Nursery Frog (Cophixalus neglectus) which is found only on the Mt Bellenden Ker Range near Cairns, in QLD. 🐸😍

The have been silent throughout much of Australia recently, with drought and fires. In places where it had rained, now is the time to record calling frogs with the free app so that we can understand how they are coping. It's never been more important!
