Thanks Rodney for waking me a bit earlier, yet again! The unfortunate thing is when we walk to his food bowl, there's often already some cat snacks in it! 
He doesn't think to check before waking me, or apologise when he realises his mistake!

Awwww .. well my little cat never cared to check on me unless he smelled something interesting. I miss him but I doubt he noticed that I’ve been gone for a year now! His reaction in easter was pure ignorance. My sister’s bird was more affectionate!
I know this feeling! I had to leave 2 cats with my mum back in NZ when I left there 19 years ago. When I came back to visit, they didn't seem to have much understanding of who I was. That's life, I guess! Did hurt a bit, though.

It sure hurts! I love that cat alot but he doesn’t bother. Almost as if he is over our bond. Ouch! Rejection hurts

Well Rodney is ever more affectionate than before. I think it's a combination of him seeing me a lot more than when I was working, but also that he's getting a bit older. I think my appreciation for his affection highlights some of the issues with being single in general.
