A lot of dreams about my dad, so it's made me think of him back in NZ, and hope he's okay. Had a couple of days relaxing but now will get back to recording new videos for my channel.

Ah I didn't realise sorry. I just know that when I have dreams like that it is normally time to check in. I am not as far from my family but I can empathize. I didn't expect being an Expat would be such an emotional rollercoaster.
No need for apologies. Of course, you don't know! I don't really talk much about it. For ages my dad & I didn't talk, then we started exchanging emails here & there, but now with this dementia it kinda changes everything. I visited last year, sometimes he didn't recognise me!

I am not sure how I would handle that? If it was my Mother, although a bit toxic has been there for me all my life, I would feel obliged to cater for her needs as she did my. My Father on the other hand who I have seen twice in the last 30 year...well?

Well I do feel like I should be around a bit more for my dad but that's unreasonable considering I live on the other side of the world. And we weren't very close. He was rather authoritarian and cold as I was growing up. So I rationalise it and don't feel so bad about it.
