I grew up with American and British films and books, so Ashley for a guy is not strange to. And I agree, Americans do seem to like weird names sometimes. Gwenyth Paltrow named her daughter Apple...erm...okay

I'm not sure it's just americans. Just I have hard some places - like Germany - actually "approve" names for kids and sometimes won't allow the more... creative, shall we say.. names to get through. Not sure how I feel about approval, but also really shake my head at some names!
