Obviously, it's not the same for me. Living in the western part of USA, I was raised to only celebrate Easter on the last Sunday of March or first Sunday of April. And yes there's a Good Friday as well. I'm so sorry for the misunderstanding, Ash.
Aw, there's nothing to be sorry for! 
Yeah, Easter Sunday is the big religious day here. But people like to go away from Friday through to Monday, often to spend time with their families or back in their home towns.
Not me though! Family far away, money scarce...etc. 
I wish it was more like that here. I'm sure most people would love it. 
Not many businesses even give the day off on Easter Sunday, let alone three days. And it's too bad you couldn't spend time with your family for Easter. I have a feeling you would if you could. 
I am definitely more interested in family the older I get. So yeah, I would have!
