called "slightly smiling"? It's a normal smile. I wouldn't want to be left alone with someone looks like 
every time they smile.

Well, I agree. I've managed to offend people for things I've felt were completely inoffensive. It does seem that it has become increasingly difficult to avoid offense. But maybe my perspective has changed now I'm getting a bit longer in the tooth...

I avoided using "slightly smiling" a few times for the same reason as you. It's what prompted the tweet. I decided I'm just gonna use whatever I like the look of now.

I think that's probably a wise idea! I will try the same thing.
Probably someone who truly is offended if I use the wrong emoji is someone I probably shouldn't be talking to anyhow.
