I build on larger lots because I always play legacies/generational games. Which is why I have trouble with landscaping. I don’t build just to build.
So I've been building on the 50x50 "Oakenstead" lot in Willow Creek (as you may know, this is big compared to my normal lot size) then looking around the game, I realise... there's like only a couple of other 50x50 lots in the whole game. Now I remember why I tend to build small.

Same here. I'm bad at landscaping because I use most of the lawn space for skill activities and career objects for my Sim families. :-)
