Wow I never heard anyone but my family use that "before you turn into pumpkin". We invented that as kids because my mom used to say her taxi service won't work past certain clock. I did use it online a lot but it's first time I hear someone else do that
heheh that's funny! I say it a lot offline. 
Not sure I've said it on Twitter before! But yeah. Cool that you family has been saying it too! For me it's from Cinderella and the carriage that was made from a pumpkin. At least in the version I was told as a kid.

Of course, that's what it came from. After certain clock time our carriage, old Nissan Sunny, turned pumpkin in a sense we could not use it to get anywhere
