In the 90s, the court held (Madsen v. Women’s Health Center) that protesting outside people's *private homes* was protected by the first amendment. That happens to have been the private homes of people who work at abortion clinics. Just worth remembering right now for no reason

And the Senate just passed a bill by unanimous consent (that means with no Democrat objections) specifically increasing security for Supreme Court justices, just days after protests began at the Republican appointees’ homes, where no violence has occurred.

The opinion cites Frisby v. Schultz regarding the privacy of the home [that case protected a doctor's house] but opposed a 300ft buffer zone not "in front of" the house as too broad. So, guess it is how far "outside" you are talking about.
