This is crazy... we were in the talk about the exact same thing. New Aliens FPS, taking place at Hadleys Hope (4-player coop). Almost went through. Happened right around the time at the Disney acquisition, and when that happened, it all fell to the ground.

Yup. Game was called Aliens: Hadleys Hope. We went quite far into pre-production before the Disney/Fox acquisition, and then we had to cancel it, and move on with something else. Maybe some day! I bet yours was very different than ours?

I really want more alien games where I can play as the alien like AvP2 where you started as a facehugger sneaking around an army base looking for a victim to hug, then become a larvae that had to eat its way of the guy's stomach eating cats and insects to grow into a full alien

in situations like these, are you actually allowed to just replace a couple of assets and throw it out under a different ip, or is all development input just lost forever?

Here goes a shot in the dark corridor - I'm interested to learn more of these projects before the point of having to drop them. I've spent 7 years remapping the colony accurately for recreating it in 3D for a VR demo. I even have basic gameplay mechanics outlined. PM if you can?
