…and so information density goes way down. I frequently have less actual content on my iPhone X screen than I did on my iPhone 4 screen, despite it being way bigger. All because the information density is so low in most apps now.

Even if that was true, there shouldn’t have been the abrupt change in iOS 7, maybe just a gradual reduction in things like the leather stitching.
