I got that feeling too. Though @eddiemair gave the Canadian bullshitter (I won't name him) a reasonable argument, the entire segment was almost a deification of a repeat offender petty criminal.

Fascinating & bourne out in my practical experience of being a viewer & listener. Extraordinary to hear that BBC R4 Today Prog has lost 800k listeners in a year trying to pass it off as a slow news period! I mean really? I feel as if this country is engaged in a war for its soul.

It would be more appropriate to refer to him as “Robinson” - using his first name is unacceptably cosy.

It’s not his real name, if the media used that one no one would know who they talking about & thing would die out.

Tone is so important on news reports. Don’t, for God’s sake, normalise Robinson or his behaviour.
