If you're that low with battery perhaps you shouldn't worry about pre-heating

Just installed the Android update. Works great and can now remotely control the heated seats in my
@Tesla Model S when pre-heating! Bought new about 4 months ago and have experienced several new features that have improved the quality of the car during that time!pic.twitter.com/MxumCYJsMP

but who ever turns off the seat heaters during the winter? if you left them on before they'd always be on during preheating
-
I don’t think that’s true. They turn on once you get in the car if they were on when you left the car. They don’t turn on during the preheat unless you tell them to via the updated app.

Works great unless your next stop is 60 miles away and you return to find out...oh my...i just spent all my juice and now I’m going to be left stranded. In the cold. And perhaps freeze to death so I could keep my car warm when I was not in it. Brilliant. And at least 5% better
-
I believe the car shuts off climate stuff if you’re not in it and it’s down to 20% battery left. There’s some buffer below zero, and probably a good spot to charge on your way to wherever you’re going if that’s needed.
