    Johnny Depp's abuse does not invalidate the abuse stories of female survivals. It's validity Is not to promote the rape myth that women lie to destroy men's careers. Rather it gives us the necessary truth that Men too can be victims of abuse and that should never be ignored .

    Celebrity worship + avoiding accountability. Most men are guilty of sexual assault. They feel holding their heroes accountable for it also means they have to hold themselves accountable. So they live in a bubble of denial that extends to their celebrity role models.

    Not all rapists are boogeymen. Not everyone who does something monstrous is a monster. If Kobe could begin to grapple with the fact he *did* sexually assault someone, why is it so difficult for fans to do the same?
