Hi @TeamYouTube my entire channel with 183k subscribers had just been demonetized, this channel is my job and only income. I can't just lose the monetization like this, I have rent and bills to pay. What is happening? HELP @grandayy

Some (or a lot) of your thumbnails are copyrighted material (unless you got permission from StudioGhibli?) :P Says right there in the notice why your channel was demonitizedpic.twitter.com/XktE5xYNpp

And well, they already have a copyright system that takes care of these issues. Why demonetize entire channels when the copyright system could work just fine for my type of content? It simply makes no sense at all.

Because you are making money using their legal intellectual property. That's what companies sue each other for... makes a lot of sense xD

You are pushing this to extreme limits. A lot of companies and artists let others use their work. They might be able to do it within the limits of law but that doesn't mean they will. I've been in this game for a long time bud and I know how companies work w/ rights on youtube

I've been uploading to the site since 2007. You seem to be blissfully unaware that using copyrighted images is wrong. Maybe Youtube will turn a blind eye to it, but have a look at other music channels that got demontitzed... same thumbnail abuse.

I am aware about all of this, the thing you don't understand is that they can claim revenues and they normally would but it looks like they don't care that we are using it. TokyoTV let people use clips of Naruto on YouTube but they claim revenues.

Yes.... I understand the usage policies for certain things, but... going back to the start of this conversation... Copyright law has changed, YouTube taking precaution, you probably demonitized cause thumbnails.
