As we wrap up a big push of work I’m desperate to keep charging forwards but starting to realise the counterintuitive feeling of slowing down and evaluating the path ahead is the quickest way to get there and not end up in the gravel.

Slowing down as you approach a turn is necessary and is the fastest route you can take but it’s difficult mentally to slow down when you’re focussed on getting to the end goal. Feels counterintuitive but is vital to accelerate towards the next checkpoint.

How to build a great product: be world class at one thing. Steve Jobs told the Apple team working on Safari that all he wanted was speed. Similarly, if you’re an email tool, you better send an email when the user tells you to (not 5-10 minutes later). You have one job.

Totally this 💯 & I are investing in a strategy that will enable us to talk to 3-5 new target audience members each week on tap 🚰 Front load the work to create the system then have ongoing payback 🤓

Why are there no good gmail competitors? I'm slowly moving my life away from spyware based companies (hey 👋), have switched to Safari from Chrome, 's is great but gmail alternatives all seem not very good 🤔

All marketing is story telling. decided to start telling his story in late 2017, ended up w/ millions of page views, then amplified his content with twitter ads, spending $24k for 17m impressions. The story of his story telling is a good one.

Audible has been an absolute game changer for me. The idea that a professional narrater would follow me around, reading books to me at whatever pace I choose, stopping and repeating things I miss and cheaper than buying the book itself, total superpower.

Great post from on the drawbacks of being known. could there be a product in but for forwarding the negative 💩 to? Like clearing crap out. Maybe could obfuscate the senders identity though 🤔

Super interesting post from on the impact of defaults as our interfaces become more frictionless and get to know us better. The future has new challenges.

Fair treatment for the people you like - easy. Fair treatment for the people you dislike - hard. Freedom of speech for the people you love - easy. Freedom of speech for the people you hate - hard. When it comes to values, easy reveals nothing. Hard reveals everything.

Having the self-belief that you will be able to figure things out as you go along is critical to success at anything hard. Get started and trust yourself. No one has all the answers at the beginning.
