Probably because 99% of "terfs" don't believe those strawman arguments.
Pushing for disability access helps parents with prams. Pushing for intersex bodily autonomy could be used to fix FGM and circumcision. Homelessness can be addressed by reforming public housing and rent laws. This kind of stuff is self evident.

When I see the discourse between, if you don't like the term terf let's say, trans people and their detractors. I don't see discussions about producing equitable and universal human rights. I see widespread vilification and anger.
-
So I do take the grievances of detractors very seriously. I'm just more interested in discussions that will produce equitable and universal solutions. Based on those questions I asked. I don't think they're a straw man. No.
-
I'm willing to take this discussion to individual issues if you are. Or if you'd like me to clarify anything so far, please let me know.
-
Well firstly, thank you for being open to a conversation and explaining yourself so well. Allow me to give my "background". I am a trans teenager who is probably the biggest opponent of gender ideology you'll ever meet, just so you know xXx
-
My opinions are based in conservatism; politically libertarian, but sociologically, I'm right-wing. I think the gender ideology pushed by the far left is one of the most evil and dangerous campaigns in the west, especially with the targeting and indoctrination of young children.
-
Cool! The targeting and indoctrination of children is a good and interesting topic to start with. Because as an intersex activist, one of my primary goals is to criminalise deferrable medical procedures that modify the sex characteristics of children.
-
I'm also involved in a number of discussions as to when and how children should be able to take control of their bodies and make decisions about their identities. It's a complex issue. So lets go for an equitable and universal solution.
-
People have the right to make decisions about their own bodies, and children deserve to be protected from consequences they are unable to comprehend. This should be a fairly uncontroversial statement.
