The same will happen with sex, to a much lesser degree : the boundaries will blurry a bit, thanks to cultural convergence of male and female, and physical modifications will make the categories of "man" and "woman" less relevant (they are already less relevant than in 1950)
Closed-to-those-without-a-vagina groups will deny transphobia, citing more or less objective reasons for the absence of trans women from their midst: "this is a discussion group for people with periods, not a transphobic 'female group'. We see ourselves as women, not female !"

So technology, diversity activists expanding the number of categories and purity activists preserving categories will produce a larger landscapes of sex and genders, which will have better definitions than nowadays (with permanent controversy at the fringes as in racial matters)

As to competition and bickering among categories for underdog/victimhood status, it's hard for me to think about how harsh it will be. If we're talking beyond 10-20 years from now it seems pointless. Better to observe antiracist activism, e.g. current antisemitism controversies

I now realise the obvious parallel between anti-cultural appropriation fights: "you didn't grow up and don't live in this culture everyday, quit trying to gain benefit from it !", and trans-exclusionary feminism: "you didn't grow up and don't live in this body everyday, ..."
