TIL: The Erlang supervisor module has no publicly exposed stop function. I guess they are here to stay.

Wait…is there such a thing as a `supervisor:stop/1` ? I ended up using `exit/2` in my common test “life cycle test”…

But yeah. I should read your book, again. I’ll probably get something new from it now that I have more Erlang experience.

Ah, you mean I have to implement it myself comme ci, comme ça ? It has been a long day—I assure you that is what I ended up doing :)

The beautiful thing about Erlang is that an obviously correct (and simple) solution often is fast enough, and thereby sufficient.

Erlang applications are supposed to run forever. If you want to stop it kill -9 should be sufficient.
