      You should program in elixir because it runs on top of #ERLANG and gives you all the benefits of Erlang/OTP. Easy!

      Elixir is a "skin", sometimes thin, sometimes thick, on top of Erlang/OTP. Pick the one you prefer, the same system building capabilities...

      Not really, they are much much more tightly integrated. The BEAM implements Erlang, it looks like it does because of Erlang's properties

      From a users (developer) perspective, Erlang, LFE and Elixir are languages that run on the BEAM (aka Erlang VM).

      The difference here is that Erlang drives the development of the BEAM. Not the other way around.

      There were couple things in OTP 20 that originated from Elixir community, with some major features - UTF8 atoms and new debug format.
