Shouldn't have to know what a hashtable is, yet it's still a useful to understand them and we test them in interviews

I've had a candidate build a g-counter in an interview without prior knowledge. Needless to say, I was impressed.

Ideally, this would be provided by a library and then people could focus on coding business logic.
