@FrancescoC@t_sloughter@mononcqc The less that gets in otp the better, code gets obsolete fast#corba -
@andy_till@FrancescoC@mononcqc true. Really just having rebar3 mentioned on http://www.erlang.org/ and real tutorials wld go a long way -
@t_sloughter@FrancescoC@mononcqc I like the idea of recommended libs, for builds but also JSON, HTTP clients etc

@FrancescoC@t_sloughter that's tricky because it impacts bug fix cycles, especially this early on. -
@mononcqc@FrancescoC yea, I have a number of issues with including it. I think it is a benefit, like mix in elixir, but they control it. -
@t_sloughter@mononcqc@FrancescoC Was just about to switch all my projects to rebar3 … think I continue watching from afar for a while -
@peerstr@t_sloughter@FrancescoC wait because it should or shouldn't go in the Erlang distribution? Hell, we're not in beta yet; -
@mononcqc@FrancescoC It should go in OTP eventually, but I (mis?)understood@t_sloughter has general reservations about this -
@peerstr@FrancescoC@t_sloughter well yeah, it ties us to the backward compant and release cycle of OTP, which it is very early for. -
@mononcqc@FrancescoC@t_sloughter but will it eventually be part of OTP if they want it? -
@peerstr@FrancescoC@t_sloughter I guess it could depend on many things like licensing. We reuse dual-license code from old not on apache - 4 more replies
