    Job anno 2010 "need Erlang knowledge". Got the book (not the job). 3 yrs life got Joe's book. Pitched Erlang to my employer; "no" (would have fit perfectly). 3 yrs life funemployed, focus on Erlang. Implement the W3C functional query language, XQuery on the BEAM.

    2012 - snuck a copy of 's book onto my desk. Erlang made sense to me in a way Tcl certainly did not... Was immediately hooked, joined ESL a few months later where I met my wonderful wife . The rest, as they say...
