Easing lockdown too early could disproportionately affect groups most at risk in this crisis - including BAME & disabled people. But there is appallingly little mention of them, or the equalities impact of the Government's plans, in the #Covid19 recovery strategy.

Am I right in thinking that this means middle class people who can work from home can now drive and take day trips and working class people in cities are compelled to go to work in unsafe environments but told they aren’t supposed to use public transport? It can’t be that blatant

And after the highest death toll in Europe, a failure to protect frontline workers, an underfunded NHS, & the elderly being left to die in care homes - a mistake by Labour not to insist workers rights are central to any decision about a return to work.

Govt message is low paid worker get yourself to work, but walk there, forget about any health & safety at work (& if you are from the black community who cares anyway about disproportionate #corona impacts & on your way to work read the 60 page advice they will issue tomorrow.

You are not a burden when asking for equality.

The gov's shambolic #COVID19 'exit strategy' will continue to put the low-waged, POC and otherwise marginalised members of our communities in danger to line the pockets of the rich. Let's get organised to support them now & once they announce who's next on the chopping block.

Spectacular that @JustinTomlinson and the Office for Disability Issues didn't subtitle their video on the Access to Work announcement so my colleague at @InclusionLondon had to. And then Tomlinson RTed our subtitled version. We should definitely send them the invoice.

Instead of “pre-existing condition” and “vulnerable” and “medically fragile” we should say disabled. It politicizes the disabled identity in a way that indicates we aren’t inherently vulnerable and shifts the focus from individuals to systems.

White disabled people need to stop using racism as a comparison for ableism. It’s. Not. The. Same. I am outraged beyond words to see a white disabled activist using images of violent racism to make a point about disabilism. It’s disgusting that 9000 people supported it.
