    Google employees' disgust and concern is immediately evident. Even a privacy-focused Google engineer couldn’t protect her/his own location from the company. There is more here that's insane where they use non-google builds to try to not be tracked by their own company. /15 🤦🏼‍♂️

    As we had no method of warning our users on the channel itself (as that's banned by the new policy), we had to choose an in-client solution. That's why this warning message was added.

    Screenshot of an IRC client. The client is connected to freenode. A warning with the text "Deceptive network detected" is shown at the top. A dialog with the same title is shown below. The dialog continues with the text: "The staff of this network have taken over several official projeft channels against the wishes of the channel operators. Many of these projects have moved to other networks such as libera.chat and OFTC. Before joining or chatting in any project channel make sure to verify that the channel you are in hasn't moved or been taken over".
